Privacy
The short version
Hospitality Circle is a free directory of UK hospitality businesses. We hold as little about you as we can get away with, we do not sell anything to anyone, and there are no advertising trackers on this site.
What we hold
Your business profile. If you join, we hold what you type into your profile: business name, type, categories, town, postcode, a description, your website and social links, a contact phone number if you give one, and any images you upload. All of it is meant to be public, and all of it appears on your profile page and in the directory.
Your account. An email address and a password. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text, and nobody here can read yours. We email you once to confirm the address, and after that only for things you have asked for.
Your postcode. Used to work out which regional circle you belong to and to place a pin on the directory map. The map pin is deliberately approximate, set to the town rather than your door.
Nothing else. No advertising cookies, no Meta pixel, no Google Analytics, no profiling, no data sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
What is public
Your profile, your posts and any endorsements you give or receive are public and visible to anyone, including search engines. Your email address and password are never shown. Your phone number is shown only if you choose to add one.
The regional groups run on WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy policy, not ours. If you join a group, the other members of that group can see your phone number and display name. That is how WhatsApp group chat works. Joining is your choice, you can leave at any time from inside WhatsApp, and we do not receive a copy of anything said in the groups.
Cookies
A session cookie to keep you signed in, and browser storage on your own device to remember a part-finished sign-up so you do not lose it. Nothing that follows you anywhere else. See our cookies policy for the detail.
Maps
The directory map loads its map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Loading a map means your browser contacts that service, which will see your IP address. We do not send them anything about you. If you use the "near me" option, your location is read in your browser and used to sort the list. It is never sent to us or stored.
How long we keep it
Your profile stays until you delete it. Posts expire automatically after 30 days. If an account goes unused for a long period we may hide the profile from the directory and, in time, remove it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can do most of this yourself from your dashboard: edit your profile, or delete your account outright. For anything else, contact us using the details on this site, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If we start holding something new, we will update this page and say so. Last updated 8 September 2026.
